Dr. Christy Maré, F-AAA, is a native of Colorado Springs, although she spent many years practicing Audiology in Tucson, Arizona. She holds a doctorate in audiology from A.T. Still University at the Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona. She also has a Master of Science in Audiology from the University of Arizona in Tucson, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders and Speech Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Christy was pleased to join the Apex Audiology team in the summer of 2020, specializing in providing compensation and pension examinations for veterans. For most of her career, she worked in medical settings such as neurotology practices and hospitals. She supervised and directed the Audiology Department at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson for 14 years. During that time, she also “moonlighted” as a Compensation and Pension Examiner for the Department of Veterans Affairs. In 2007, she and her family decided to move back to Colorado to be closer to family. Shortly after moving back, she accepted a position with the largest earmold manufacturer in the world. She became the Director of Hearing Healthcare there which included direction, management, and oversight of all operations, projects, and initiatives in the Hearing Healthcare Division. Working on the business side of audiology was rewarding, and she loved leading teams to accomplish business goals.
Dr. Maré and her husband, Mike, have been married for 22 years. They have 2 children, Jeremy and Grace, and they just recently took Jeremy to college at the University of Colorado Denver. They enjoy camping, boating, traveling, and spending time together as a family on the Oregon coast.
